Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet Rich Fibrin, commonly referred to as PRF, is a new Platelet Therapy created from your own blood. Tooth loss and damage to the jaw bone are often a challenge during oral surgery or implant placement. Without enough support in the jaw bone dental implants cannot be immediately stabilized and tissue healing can be a long process. The solution to these and other situations is PRF. It changes all the rules as it promotes healing and bone growth from within in your body.  When placed in surgical sites PRF releases your body’s own natural healing proteins, creating an efficient network for cells to enhance the healing process.  

PRF membranes are first created by taking a small blood sample from you. The tubes with your blood sample are spun in a centrifuge using a specific protocol which separates the PRF from the rest of your blood. The PRF clot is then removed from the tube and placed in a device that compresses it into a thin membrane. The membrane is then used to regenerate your bone and the tissue surrounding the surgical site.
